Adding Colleen Rothschild To My Skincare Routine

Colleen Rothschild Skincare -

my skincare journey

I first heard of Colleen Rothschild last September. I was rooming in New York for Fashion Week with my good friend Kathleen Post (we met through blogging), and she has several of the products in her makeup bag. I had literally never even heard of the brand, but she had so many great things to say about how the products were helping her skin. As someone who loves to invest in skincare and finds it super important to take care of my skin, I reminded myself that I should try this brand at some point haha!

In the last two or three years skincare has become really important to me, because I have started to realize that it can really so so so much for the skin on your face. Not only does it help you look younger and more youthful, but finding a good skincare routine can help your skin be the strongest and most healthy it can be. For myself personally, when my skin feels healthy, I feel really good about myself! I like when my face is clean and clear and it feels healthy. I also love when you don’t have to wear makeup, because your skin feels just as good without it (that is the best)!

I used to go to bed most nights and NOT WASH MY FACE.. ahh!! Just typing that out freaks me out all over again haha can you imagine? Think of your skin as a canvas without anything on it. When you apply primer, makeup, touch your face with dirty fingers, then lay your face on the same pillow every night.. whew. When those pollutants and dirt and makeup get layered onto your skin, it is super important to make sure you are washing everything off your face at night. Beyond just washing my face, I am slowly learning more about what skincare can do to replenish and rejuvenate your skin.

my favorite products

My friend Kathleen suggested that I try the Sheer Renewal Cream first (it’s oil-free!) as a thick cream product that provides weightless hydration. This specific product also promotes new cell turnover AND helps minimize the appearance of lines and wrinkles. It has a very lightweight almost powder finish, that isn’t oily or greasy at all so it is great for all skin types. If you are someone who might have more oily skin and tends to never want to apply lotion because it makes your face feel too oily, try this product! I like this as an extra layer of hydration, that also offers environmental defense.

Another best selling product is the Mandelic Acid Radiance Serum! It is a daily treatment that promotes cellular turnover (similar to the Sheer Renewal Cream) but in a lightweight serum. It treats fine lines, acne, dark spots and improves overall skin texture. Mandelic acid (which is derived from a bitter almond I learned on, is gentle yet highly effective. The acid in this serum is formulated to gently exfoliate and dissolve “the tiny bonds between dull dead skin cells that sit on the skin’s surface”. With time, your skin is revealed to be brighter and more radiant. This serum is good for overall complexion, and helps a variety of skin issues.

I choose to buy this product because I knew that I needed to focus more on my eyes and make sure I was adding something for that area of my face into my skincare routine. I really haven’t used any specific cream products that target that area, and after many years of my mom telling me I really need to care for my skin better haha.. I finally listened! I love this cream because its is really thick & you do not need a lot of product on your face. I like that the container it comes in is fairly small and easy to throw in your makeup bag or leave on your nightstand for quick use. It targets the most common parts of eye aging; smoothing wrinkles, fine lines, de-puffing under-eye circles, and adding back elasticity to the skin. The cream itself doesn’t have much of a smell or fragrance to it, which is great if you are sensitive to smell or perfume. I am excited to see what this continues to do for the sensitive area of skin around my eyes with more regular and long use!

Thank you to Colleen Rothschild for sponsoring this post! As always, all opinions, product choice, descriptions and stories are my own. I truly stand behind any product I choose to post about.
