Go Shawty, It's Your Birthday

Oh. My Goodness.

I like to think that it takes quite a bit for a surprise to really SURPRISE me (although my friends & family might disagree haha), but this last Friday Matt really, truly surprised me!! I slept in until 10am, because that's what you do when it's your birthday and you have the day off. When I looked over Matt was nowhere to be found, so I figured he had gotten up early to make me breakfast. I came out to the living room to find Matt setting up the cutest little breakfast arrangement and to my TOTAL surprise.. had a Letter Folk board he bought all set up!!!

I have followed Letter Folk on Instagram for about two years, but only recently mentioned to Matt a few months ago that I loved these little felt boards. I am still so shocked that he was listening and was so thoughtful to get me one - and to set it up and take the time to cut all the letters out!

What a sweetie, I love him.

After breakfast (so good!) we got in the car and started on our little roadtrip to the East side of Washington, where my parents own a house on Lake Entiat. This has always been "our" place; from getting to know eachother here as we began to date, to countless memories in the Summers and Winters, we thoroughly enjoy any time we get to spend together here. After a quick stop at Starbucks we were on our way! We stopped in Leavenworth, the cutest Dutch inspired town right off of the pass, that you drive through to get to Entiat.

It's always fun to stop & look around in the shops, walk around the town, and take in the views. Leavenworth is surrounded by huge, gorgeous mountains, and it was such a beautiful day!

For my birthday last year we met my bestfriend Amy and her husband Justin for dinner, so we decided to continue that tradition this year and meet them for the best BBQ ever. I am serious, it's so good and it can only be found at this little BBQ place in Cashmere, WA. It's about 15-20 minutes East of Leavenworth, and completely worth the drive! My favorite is the Combo #1 which includes pulled pork, chicken breasts, ribs, coleslaw, and cornbread. It's got to be one of my favorite meals ever!!

Of course this post wouldn't be complete without a little OOTD breakdown! Confession: I gave myself a little shopping spree (not really, everything was on sale ha!) at Forever21 the day before my birthday. I was looking for some easy slip on suede shoes.. I found them! And much more, like I usually do while shopping at Forever21 haha. I fell in love with this soft silky bomber jacket that was on a major sale!! I think I will be able to wear this with everything. I love this outfit because it was really easy to put together, but made me feel confident and pretty!

Cheers to 24!
