Effortlessly Easy Roadtrip Style

For our first anniversary Matt and I decided to take a road trip to the East Side of Washington and stay at my family's house on Lake Entiat. We absolutely love it over there! The Summer we first met Matt came out to Entiat as a friend of my older brothers, and every Summer & Winter after that he's been coming with my family and me.

In the Summer it's all about boating, jetskis, wake-boarding, going to get ice cream, and laying in the sun. In the Winter, however, the town slows down even more than usual. Soft white snow blankets the property and it's so quiet all you can hear is the river rolling by. Days are spend with the heat cranked, sitting by the wood fireplace, and watching countless movies. I love both seasons equally, though! Each has it's own things I look forward to.

We both got four days of for an extended long weekend, and left Friday afternoon so owe would be able to take out time and enjoy the drive over. Even in the winter the view is amazing! Driving by rivers, snow coated trees, passing little towns and shops along the way, and of course stopping at our all time favorite BBQ restaurant! My parents first started going to Country Boys BBQ years ago when we got the house at the lake, and now almost every time we go over we have to stop. They have the best pulled pork, brisket, and chicken that comes on a big plate with cornbread and slaw. Tell me your mouth isn't watering right now just thinking about it! Delicious.

The thing about road trips, even when they aren't that long, is that I get so uncomfortable in the car! I always have to plan ahead what I am going to wear, so I know that when we stop, get in & out of the car, and get food, I am going to be comfortable! I love this Ivy Park sweatshirt from Nordstrom (on MAJOR sale right now!) because it's oversized and so cozy. The inside of really soft and I like that it is long enough to wear with leggings and not feel like I am always pulling it down to keep covered. These leggings are my absolute favorite too! Nordstrom brand Zella Live-In Leggings are super thick and soft, they aren't see-through like some leggings can be!

The last touch to this cozy & effortless road trip style are my Brooks Chariot shoes. Even though these shoes are bright and colorful, I surprisingly can find so much to wear them with! I like that they have gold and black details on them, so I usually wear them with neutrals as a pop of color. They are also the most comfortable shoe ever! They have a really thick bottom heel that keeps my feet cushioned and gripped, even we we took a walk in the snow!
