TRAVEL STYLE

perfect for a weekend roadtrip

Weekend Outfit Recap - Bre Sheppard

This weekend Matt and I took a little road trip over to the Eastern side of Washington to spend time with our best friends who just bought a home in Ellensburg. The drive is only about 2 hours, and it's honestly the perfect trip for a Friday after work because it was a short & sunny drive! We barely got stuck in any traffic, and only had to stop once, for coffee of course! This outfit is a classic for my style.. I love a good pair of denim and these are the best I've found in a long time. I love the fit; they have a slightly high waist but aren't super tight and stiff. They are comfy and have some stretch, but I find they completely stay up and have not stretched out yet! Paired with some good ol' flip flops (I am bringing these back in style lol) and a cute Abercrombie throwback tee, and you've got my dream travel outfit.

I have also linked my travel accessories below since I get tons of questions on my luggage! They are both Lipault Paris, and have been amazing this last year while traveling. i am obsessed with the pink and gold as well; they are just so fun and make me want to show them off, not hide them and pretend they aren't mine like my old luggage ha! For this trip I just packed my smaller suitcase, but I have the large travel luggage in pink as well.

DATE NIGHT

Comfortable & cute

Saturday night we had a little date night in a nearby town with our friends! We started at Swiftwater Cellars for appetizers & worked our way back towards town for dinner, ending up at a place called the Brick that serves burgers and fries. I am just in love with this whole outfit because it shows that you can take a few really simple pieces and create a fun date night look; most likely with pieces you already have, or just by buying a few new fun ones! I love that these jeans can go from road trip to date night dinner just by changing the top and shoes. You need these jeans; and the BEST part is they are only $59! If you are contemplating it, you have to get them. I promise you're gonna be like WOAH these are so comfortable and versatile! Paired my fave jeans with this adorable little tank top blouse I got from American Eagle, and it just felt like ME.

My hair was in a bun because it was SO windy haha I couldn't figure out what else to do with it - but I actually love the way it looked and think sometimes we forget how chic and simple a bun can look! Hairspray the fly-aways back for a really sleek look, or embrace the messy look like I did for a really effortless look.

FUN DETAILS

mix & match simple with a fun print

I am pretty much obsessed with this fun denim and embroidered clutch from Red Dress Boutique! I love that it creates a really bold pop of color for any outfit. I paired it with my jeans and white blouse because I needed a bright pop of color! Embroidery details are really popular this year and I can see them even carrying in to the Fall; you often see it on purses, jeans, and tops. I love the added pink fringe that hangs off the side too. This clutch is the perfect size to carry my wallet, lipstick, phone and car keys. But it also acts as a accessory to your outfit more than a simple purse would, since it was really the pop of color and texture my outfit was lacking!

My sandals are also Red Dress Boutique and are the perfect height for a casual day or night. Since the heel is only about 1.5" you get a little height without having to worry about walking in heels or a wedge all night! I found them to be super comfortable and I loved that the tan color will go with anything I wear this Summer! They also run true to size; I am wearing a 7.5 and love the fit.

SATURDAY STROLL

Easy, casual, his + hers style

Weekend Outfit Recap - Bre Sheppard

Saturday morning we went into town for a farmer's market, and ended spending about an hour walking around the cute historic town of Ellensburg. I love that all of the buildings are older and have so much character! Matt and I also love that it's just a pretty casual and country town, so wearing shorts and a USA top felt just natural ha! The farmer's market was so fun; I think it is just so cool to see everyone sharing what they love, whether it's fresh fruit, veggies, coffee beans, flowers, promoting their shop in town, or sharing the crafts they hand-make. I like to see the creativity and beauty of everything that comes from the passion every unique person has! We had to stop for a photo with Amy's pretty yellow flowers, and this is one of my favorite photos of us.

I am wearing a large in my lightweight USA sweatshirt, which also happens to be under $20! It was the only one in the store, so I could have done a medium or even small but I liked the really oversized look! It would be perfect for the 4th of July, and you can actually check out my other patriotic favorites here!
