A Thought About Motherhood

Motherhood looks really different for each person.

Maybe you read up on every detail before birth, or maybe you're choosing to wing it all. You may have a lot of help from family or maybe you can hire a nanny. Maybe you're doing it on your own, whether that is by choice or not. Maybe you had your nursery planned for months, or maybe or you are using someone else's baby items passed down to you. You might have had a great breast-feeding experience or you may choose formula right off the bat. Maybe breastfeeding makes you feel empowered, or maybe it is frustrating and isolating. You might share every detail about your experience online, or you may process things before choosing what to share. You could have a baby that sleeps through the night or one who doesn't sleep a wink no matter what you do. Your baby may be fussy - and that doesn't make them not a happy baby. They may cry a lot or seem really difficult some days. You may feed them store bought food or make it from scratch. You could love dressing your baby up, or not care if they wear the same spit up shirt every day. They may talk before they walk, or walk before they talk. You may feel like you've lost yourself a bit, or you may feel like you finally have found your purpose. You may feel your best when you shower & put on make up and a cute outfit. You may never get dressed and rock yoga pants daily. Maybe you want to go back to work or maybe you desire to stay home. Maybe you work full time from home while balancing being a mom. Maybe you feel like you have all the time in the world to focus on your baby each day. Maybe you struggle to find a balance between everything in life.

Guess what? You are all still experiencing motherhood. It is different for everyone, but what you choose or go through isn't better or worse than anyone else's experience - it's just different. I think all moms are really incredible & we should always cheer each other on even if we don't always do things the same way. xx
