Cleaning Your Dyson Air Wrap Filter

PSA for all the Dyson girlies!

A few weeks ago when I was using my Dyson to dry my hair, it kept turning off randomly. I sort of thought it had to do with the outlet and when I swapped outlets it seem to help the issue for a short period of time, until the Dyson turned off again. I didn’t know what the issue was, and it’s so silly but I didn’t even think to google it at the time (or read the manual which I am known to always throw away - yikes haha). I decided to finished blow drying my hair with a different dryer we have, and didn’t think about it until I went to usd my Dyson a few days later to curl my hair. Again, when I was in the middle of a curling my hair with the air wrap attachment, but this time I was smart enough to google it haha. Thankfully if you have this little red button of death it doesn’t mean that your Dyson is too far gone, which is what I was worried about. It simply requires the filter to be cleaned. When I googled what the button meant it showed the filter being cleaned with an attachment that came with the Dyson. Thankfully I had not thrown it away and it is very easy to clean. I put the video in a TikTok which I can share here so you can see how easy it is.

If you don’t have the filter cleaning attachment, you could also use a damp rag or a clean toothbrush. Basically you just need something that can scrape the dust out of the little holes in the filter. I think best practice would be to clean the filter every two or three uses, because it does build up pretty fast with hair, hairspray, dust particles. I was shocked how much better the Dyson worked when the filter was cleaned! It actually drive faster and had more suction power when my hair was wrapping around the attachment.

So this is your PSA to clean out your Dyson air wrap filter!
