lululemon align shorts

*this post is not sponsored in any way

If you remember last summer when I was pregnant with Tay I wore the Lululemon Align biker shorts soo many times. They were like my go-to outfit when I had no idea what else to wear haha. I feel like the comfort of them plus the versatility makes them a closet staple whether you are pregnant or now. I own both the 8 inch and 10 inch super high rise shorts & really like both lengths. I am only 5‘5“ tall so they come up really nice & high waisted on my shorter torso; in fact when I was pregnant they almost covered my belly fully. I think I actually prefer the 10 inch short because I like when the short almost hits the top of my knee. I thought it would be helpful to chat about sizing, why I like them, and share some photos for how I style them both in pregnancy and now. Lots of details if you keep reading!

*the shorts I am talking about in this post are the Lululemon Align shorts specifically. I also own the Wunder train high rise shorts from Lululemon and love them, but the fabric is a bit thicker and more for workouts instead of lounge. They are designed to be highly breathable & quickly wick sweat so you feel less sweaty during (and after) your workout. I typically wear a size 10 in that style because I feel like they run more snug.

DETAILS & SIZING

I love that they always come in a bunch of different colors and prints. I also feel like these shorts are actually really affordable compared to other biker shorts online. They run from $58-$68. My main thing with any sort of legging or bike short is that they cannot be see-through and absolutely cannot show my underwear or booty LOL. These definitely pass the squat test. If you’ve purchased from Lululemon before you will understand the quality, how comfortable they feel, and how good the fabric wears over time. These shorts have a hidden waistband pocket that fits a card or a key that is really subtle and lays flat. If you are planning on working out, these shorts they are great for low impact workouts, like yoga or walking. Sizes range from a size zero to a size 20 which I think is amazing because they really are flattering on every body type. You can also get them in a 4 inch or 6 inch length if you prefer a shorter inseam. I personally feel like the 8” or 10” is the perfect length for sticking out a few inches from the bottom of a baggy tee or sweatshirt. However, if you plan on working out or doing yoga and then a shorter length could be great as well. I currently wear the bike shorts in a size 6 or 8, I feel like both sizes actually fit really well. When I was pregnant I went up to a size 8 and sometimes a 10 near the end of my pregnancy just because I needed the fabric to stretch over my belly and I didn’t want anything to be see-through. Now I feel like a size 6 or 8 fit best depending on the day LOL I’m sure you can relate to that. Sometimes 8 feel a little bit loose and baggy but some days that feels most comfortable. If you prefer your yoga pants to be really snug I would definitely stick with your true size because they do have a lot of stretch & they are very soft.

HOW TO CARE

I feel like I get questions a lot on how I keep my shorts from pilling or how I keep them from wearing thin or looking worn down. I’m probably not the best person to ask when it comes to taking care of them because I really just wash them with similar items/colors, but don’t think too much past that haha. If they get any pill in between the legs where my thighs rub together I will just take a fabric shaver and get rid of the pilling - easy! The care instructions on their site says to wash with like colors, machine wash in cold water, obviously you shouldn’t bleach them if they have color, tumble dry on low or just air dry to make them last longer.

HOW TO STYLE

I think these shorts can be worn in so many different ways as well which is also what I love about them. When I was pregnant I wore a lot of tank tops & big t-shirts tied up that hit right at the waist band. I love wearing them with a baggy sweatshirt or t-shirt, long thermal, tank tops, etc. **I feel like I have to disclose that this is not a sponsored post; I seriously love these biker shorts so much! If you scroll my Instagram feed for the past year you can see how I styled and wore them many many times because I love them that much! I feel like the quality, comfort level, and price point are the perfect combination for an amazing pair of bike shorts that should be in every girls closet.
