Acrylic Baby Book Shelves

acrylic book shelves

We love these little floating acrylic shelves in Taya room because they not only display books, which looks really cute, but it’s also a practical way to make sure you are reading books often! Every time we get Taya up from nap or bedtime she points to the books and picks out her favorite one, it is so cute. Her current favorite book is “Snow Globe Wishes” - it is seriously so sweet. And I have it memorized because we have read it hundreds of times haha! I also love that these shelves are really easy to put up, and don’t need a lot of wall space to have a big impact.

Putting up the acrylic shelves is really easy, you just need screws (which most of the shelves come with) as well as a hand drill. I’ve also linked command strips below if you are not able to drill into your walls these should do the trick. I would just suggest if you’re using Command Strips to not layer the books too much and maybe just keep one or two books on each shelf, so they don’t become too heavy. If you’re using the screws, the shelves actually hold quite a bit of weight. I’ve never had any issue with them falling or feeling like they will break from the weight of the books. One other thing to note is to make sure you hang this on a wall that doesn’t have heat blowing at or under it, just because the shelves are acrylic. If you’re hanging above a heater just make sure it is high enough above the heater as well. I will also link some of his favorite books that we read to her often!
