Toddler Trike Bike Review
taya & her trike
I thought that I would write a blog post about the Doona trike, since every time I share Taya using it I get a lot of questions about what it is! I feel like when Taya hit right around the one year mark (maybe even a little bit before that like 10 months) it got really hard to take her for walks in her stroller because she doesn’t like the feeling of being strapped in. What we really like about this specific trike is that it is still secure with straps, a seat, and side bars, but I feel like it gives Taya the feeling of being a little bit more free. The other great thing about the trike is that it is designed for different stages for your baby & toddler. We are currently in the parent mode haha where Taya is sitting with her feet strapped in and she does not do anything to make the trike move; we are basically pushing her around as she sits in it. When your child gets a little older, you can change where the foot attachments click in, to make it into a tricycle for a toddler who is starting to learn what that movement looks and feels like for their legs. It is a really great way to get a child used to the feeling of being on a “bike“ even before they know what a bike is. The handle on the back is adjustable, so you can lower it or make it taller if you need it to be. I will say it is slightly short for Matt, although it is still a comfortable height I think he would prefer if it was a few inches taller. Just to keep in mind if you are tall (he is 6‘5“). The recommended age for the trike is 10 months up to 36 months. It also will easily fit into the overhead bins on an airplane or into the trunk of a car. It also arrives fully assembled which was a high selling point for us haha. We typically keep this in the back of our truck with our stroller, and find ourselves grabbing it way more than the stroller for walks! She can definitely go for a longer walks with the trike; like I said she feels more free and can look around every angle and just really see what’s going on better than when she strapped into her stroller.
Also this is not a sponsored post, but like I said we really have enjoyed the trike and I know there are a lot of similar items on the market, so I just thought I would explain why we love this one! And help encourage you if you were on the fence about it to let you know how much we really do use it and enjoy it.
