Week 13: Pregnancy Breakdown
Week 13: May 27 - June 1
HOW I AM FEELING:
Feeling so much better this trimester so far! I had the most extreme fatigue since right before I found out I was pregnant, and took naps almost daily in the first trimester. The past few weeks I have been taking naps here & there but overall have so much more energy (which I am so thankful for). Matt and I have been going on walks when it’s sunny out and just trying to be as active as I can to keep up the energy. I have not been working out this pregnancy, mostly because to be honest before pregnancy I wasn’t working out - so it didn’t seem like something I should start with this new body change. Going for walks helps me get moving a little bit & also the fresh air is amazing!
WHAT I AM CRAVING:
I was craving Pizza Pringles at about 11pm two nights ago lol so I placed an Prime Now order on my phone and got a bunch of random things - all salty and crunchy, of course. You know the usual.. jalepeno artichoke dip, cheese and crackers, Pringles haha. Sweets still never sound that great to me! And coffee, which used to be a daily necessity, has become something I can drink just a few sips of before not wanting any more.
BODY CHANGES:
Not many changes so far; at this point I just think I look slightly bloated haha but by the end of the day there is a liiiitle bump (especially when I push outward hehe). Breasts are still super tender and have grown so much which is wild!! I feel pretty good overall though, just still veery tired and lethargic. I think this should end in the next few weeks as I get into the 2nd trimester!
HOW BABY IS DOING:
It is the strangest feeling to not get to see baby every week to be honest! I know that is not how ultrasounds work haha but it would be fun to actually see the weekly progress they are making :) Can not wait until the next time we can see baby! We love tracking their growth in the Bump app, which gives really detailed descriptions for their development + how they look inside the uterus! Every week they are growing and changing so much, it truly is such a miracle how babies are created.
PREP FOR BABY:
We actually will find out tomorrow whether baby Shepp is a BOY or GIRL! Ahh! Couldn’t care less either way, we are just so excited to find out and get to know baby a little bit more. We took a blood test two Friday’s ago where they are able to find the baby’s blood in my blood, much earlier than the 20 week anatomy scan can tell you. I think we will just be getting together with our immediate families so finding out together will be so fun. I think boy, Matt thinks girl for the record! Still haven’t bought much because we are waiting to find out gender before going crazyyy on clothes lol but will definetly share when I do buy things! When we know gender then we will also be able to start picking out things for the nursery & figuring out what we think we will need in there. I have been looking at the cutest white and neutral wood crib which would work for either boy/girl so I think we will buy that and sort of get started from there!
