Sinclair & Moore Workshop Preview

Today I had the privilege to be a part of an amazing workshop put on by Steven Moore, co-founder of Sinclair & Moore! Steve and his wife Jamie are a perfect team - from wedding coordination, baking, and custom floral arrangements, to event design, props and so much more. They are a wedding dream team!

Several times a year, they put on an event called the Sinclair & Moore Workshop, where the main focus is floral arrangements and sharing their talents with the community who has the same passion as them. They offer up their space for a week long workshop that is open to anyone wanting to learn from the best, build confidence in their skills, and refresh their creativity. Their space alone is gorgeous enough to get the creative thoughts flowing; the bright, open space is stocked full of the most stunning flowers you could imagine! Steve carefully picks his favorites to ensure the highest quality and prettiest flowers to pick from, as the workshop attendees create bouquets. Each day has a different color pallet and focus, and today I was there as a model for the bouquets that the ladies at the workshop were making!

Here at Sinclair & Moore we are passionate about design, executing distinguished events, working with gorgeous flowers and simply creating beauty.

The day started out at their work space where I got to sit in on a little bit of Steve talking to the workshop attendees about the business side of their company. My biggest takeaway is to always focus on kindness; being humble, kind, and generous with your talents is rare but much needed in this industry.

From the workshop I drove to meet up with Erin Skipley, an amazingly talented makeup artist based in Seattle. She spends most of her time here, but also travels a to LA often; you may have seen her hair & makeup work on people such as Macklemore, One Direction, and the models in Seattle Met Bride & Groom magazines, just to name a few. She killed it! We went for a heavy side part and really wavy, teased hair, which ended up looking very chic and whimsical at the same time. A bold lip, some long lashes, and we were set! Erin was really fun to hangout with, we enjoyed talking about makeup, techniques, lipstick colors, fashion, and life. My favorite part of collaborating and networking with people is meeting people who enjoy the same things as you - I can't wait to work together again with her in the future!

After hair and makeup (I was feeling verrry pampered!) I headed back to the workshop to get into my wedding dress and start shooting photos with the ladies bouquets. Steve and Jamie have done an incredible job of networking and making great friends with some of Seattle's most talented people. Two of these would be Scott and Ashlee O'Malley, a beautiful husband and wife team that capture the most stunning photos! Not only are they talented, they are so kind and sweet, to their clients AND each other. They definitely have an eye for simple beauty, and I know that the pictures of these bouquets will be nothing short of stunning.

Together we are lifestyle and wedding photographers with a love for medium format film, inspiring locations and natural light.
