My Everyday Nude Lip Combo

I’ve been wearing this lipstick combo for probably the past year or so - I really love the way that it looks and how it wears throughout the day! I feel like three products seems pretty extra haha but actually there’s sort of a reason behind each of them and why they work (esp. layered how I layer them).

first step: Lip Plumping Gloss

I really love starting off with a base of the Too-Faced plumping lipgloss because it not only hydrates my lips but it gives them a little bit of a plumping tingling feel. I first discovered this brand’s plumping lipgloss probably a year & a half ago. At first I did not like it at all to be completely honest because I used a tinted shade of red and I felt like it made my lips look really red like they were sunburnt or something LOL.. not the vibe. Then I quickly swap to using the clear version of it, and it’s pretty amazing. I like that it actually does make my lips look and feel like they’re slightly more plump. Disclaimer: When applying this lipgloss I would be very careful that you don’t get it anywhere else on your face besides your lips because it will make that area slightly raised and slightly red as well. Also make sure you don’t kiss anyone your spouse or your baby because it would also make where are you kiss turn red. I feel like that’s making it sound really intense and it’s not that intense honestly haha, but just warning you when you apply it just make sure it’s only on your lips! Like I said, this creates a really smooth base for the matte lipstick to apply on top of. Also I wouldn’t go in with the expectation thinking your lips are gonna look like you got a lip filler or something ha ha it’s definitely really subtle especially if you already have pretty full lips. But I do think whether it’s a placebo effect or it actually works LOL it does give just enough of a plumping look to kind of smooth out your lips and make lipstick applied on top look even better. second step: Matte lipstick

This Smashbox cosmetics matte lipstick is very matte and longlasting. I think the color is incredible, it is like the perfect blend of brown with nude undertones - there’s absolutely no pink to it and I feel like it is just universally a really flattering color for everyday wear. The matte lipstick can also be used to almost outline your lips and create a lip liner effect that doesn’t bleed or shift at all because it is so matte. You could really just stop with this step & leave the matte lipstick as is because the color is that great, however I love adding the satin lipstick on top. (SHOP HERE)

last step: satin

I use the Charlotte Tilbury satin lipstick in shade Kim KW on top because I feel like it’s smoothes out the matte lipstick & gives it a little bit more of a natural look. The Charlotte Tilbury Satin lipstick is also great on its own but it’s not as rich of a color, so I feel like paired on top of the Smashbox matte lipstick makes it pop. If you are someone who doesn’t love a really glossy look, but you also don’t love a super matte dry feel, this is the perfect combination. The color will last on your lips for a while but they won’t feel dry or sticky. (SHOP HERE)

Reapplication & gloss:
To reapply with this combo I will typically just do a little bit of the Smashbox matte lipstick on my bottom lip making sure I outlined the bottom really smooth and with a clean line, and then rub my lips together a little bit to get some of that color on the top lip. I will then go over the top of that with the Charlotte Tilbury Kim KW and smack my lips together + blend it until it’s smooth. I don’t often reapply the lip plumper unless I am about to take a photo, heading to dinner, meeting up with a friend, or something where I want the full look to be refreshed. I feel like just using it once when I first apply it in the morning or whenever I’m applying the lipstick is good enough to get my lips feeling smooth and plump for a while. Now if you do like a really glossy look you can go over the top of this combination with a little bit more of the lip plumping lipgloss and adds a really beautiful shine, or you can go over it with this lipgloss that has a little bit of tint that I like. The brand of this lipgloss is called INN Beauty - it’s very affordable & you can find it at Sephora. Or I also really like Fenty gloss bomb, they have several lip glosses that are reminiscent of lip smackers (if you remember those from middle school haha) they sort of smell sweet & have a little bit of shine but aren’t nearly as sticky. They are also great for topping off a look to make it glossy.

Anyways this is my daily combo that I’ve been wearing for about the past year or so!! I do swap it up every once in a while but for a no-brainer easy & every day lipstick look - this is my go to!
