Fig & Goat Cheese Bites

easy & delicious

OK these fig & goat cheese bites are literally the easiest thing ever to make + they are also so delicious!! The first time I made them was on Thanksgiving when we hosted my family for dinner, and everyone was obsessed with how delicious they were. If you are looking for a new go to snack to bring to events (or even just a late night easy delicious yummy snack to make haha) I have got you covered with this one.

The first thing you’ll need are crescent rolls, these are pre-made and come in the little cardboard tubes typically in the refrigerated section at the grocery store. The brand we buy is called Immaculate - and I don’t know why we choose his brand other than I think their ingredients are a little bit cleaner and they’re also super delicious . But literally Pillsberry crescent rolls would do the exact same thing and be amazing. You cannot go wrong with delicious bread ha!! Next you want to buy fig spread, we also purchase this at Whole Foods but I’ve also seen it on Amazon which I’ll link here, or you could really use any fruit spread that you like. I randomly chose fig spread one day when we were at the store because I walked by it & it looked really delicious LOL. I also love that it is a thicker spread and isn’t overly sweet because I feel like it pairs with the cheese really well! And last thing you need is goat cheese! Goat cheese is one of my favorite cheeses because it is soft, not too stinky, and I feel like tastes delicious with food that is a little sweet. I also buy the goat cheese from Whole Foods but once again you could literally get any goat cheese and you would be good to go, I would just make sure it is pre-crumbled so it is easier to add to the rolls.

PARTY TIP: You could bring to someone’s house and cook them there since they cook really quickly, or just cook them at your house And then package them up in a sealed container and bring them to someone else’s house if you’re bringing them as a appetizer or a part of a meal. They taste good warm but they also taste really good just cooled off. You could also add a little bit of rosemary inside if you like little bit more savory flavor, or like I said you could try it with different cheeses like blue cheese and raspberry jam, but this is just the combo that I prefer! Let me know if you make these!

let’s make them together

+ Preheat your oven to 350°.

+ Next get out a cookie sheet, ours is non-stick so I don’t grease it or put anything down on the pan. Roll out the crescent rolls from the tube (the ones that we purchased are already cut in triangle shapes which works perfectly for this appetizer) Lay out the triangles onto the cookie sheet flat.

+ Take one spoonful of fig spread and spread it over each of the triangle crescent pieces that are laid out on the pan. Focus on the center of the bread with the most fig spread because in the oven it will spread out more with the heat. I use about one spoonful of the fig spread per crescent roll.

+ Then take a another spoon & scoop a spoonful of goat cheese (we buy the pre-crumbled goat cheese so it’s really easy to use a spoon) and scoop that on to each crescent roll on top of the fig spread. I like to add rosemary also!

+ Roll them up just like you would a crescent roll, kind of making sure to tuck the cheese and fig spread into the role so it’s not sticking out too much. As these bake the cheese and fig spread will sort of melt so you just wanna make sure as much of it stays inside the crescent roll as possible!

+ Once the oven is fully heated, put them in the oven on the middle or low rack. I usually cook for about 13 minutes or until golden on top.

+ I actually like to let them cool for a few minutes before eating because they are so freaking hot when they come out of the oven haha they have burnt my mouth one too many times.. & ENJOY!
